Checkin' things off our list ..

Hey, friends and family! Sorry it's been 10 days since our last update.. we've been extremely busy filling out paperwork, reading our books, and checkin' requirements off our list! We had a check list that contained over 50 things, ranging from simple actions like providing a birth certificate, to more cumbersome task like medical physicals, book reports, fire marshal home inspections and health department inspections! 

We've done our doctors appointments (with follow ups tomorrow!), we've successfully passed our fire marshal home inspection, gathered documents, and are SO happy to be steadily checking off the boxes on our "to do" list. We know that this is the only time in our adoption journey that we've got completely control over how quick things happen, because once all this is complete and our paperwork is submitted after our home study, then the real test of our journey comes.. the wait. The wait until our profile is picked, and our baby is born..and welcomed into our home! 

Also, as many of you know, we've been attending our required training classes. We need 27 hours (per that handy dandy check list). We've officially completed half of them so far! We've only got 3 more classes left ..and as exhausting as is it is, traveling over an hour each way to sit in hours of training after we've worked a long day at work, - the classes have been amazing. We are so thankful for them. I actually wish we could record them, or bring close family members so they can see what a miracle this process is, and how AMAZING our agency really is, as well as our awesome social worker! I think I'm going to miss our classes once they are over, as we've begun to bond with the other adoptive parents in the class - as well as the guest speakers and their journey! 

See why it's been hard to get an update to y'all? And don't forget.. March is full of fundraisers! Cake balls will be at two local vendor events in March (DBN vintage flea market and Leonardtown Elementary Spring Vendor event), and all proceeds are going to the adoption cost. Also, our Wine and Design scheduled for March 11th! Don't forget to sign up for that :)
